Volcano Conference in Iceland Garners Attention

An international conference on the effects of the volcanic eruption in Eyjafjallajökull glacier in Iceland last spring, held by the Keilir Aviation Academy September 15-16 in Keflavík, has garnered worldwide attention. The eruption in Eyjafjallajökull caused more extensive disruption to air traffic in peace times than any other event in recent decades and it cost airlines ISK 200 billion (USD 1.7 billion, EUR 1.3 billion). Most airports in Europe had to be shut down temporarily and almost all continents were impacted. Iceland Review
