Fresh air and beautiful nature. The race is held in June every year. The summers in the Faroe Islands are cool and well suitable for marathons. Participate in half or full marathon, the choice is yours. There is no traffic on the roads just you and maybe a few sheep! The course is challenging but beautiful, steep in places but stunning scenery and natural landscapes guaranteed.

Itinerary Suggestion
Day 1 - Arrival
Departure from Edinburgh to Vágar Airport in the Faroe Islands. Transport from the International airport to your hotel. Arrival in the evening. Enjoy your evening in Tórshavn. Overnight in a 3 star hotel in Tórshavn or similar in double/twin room, upgrade option to a 4 star hotel available for extra cost, Subject to availability.
Day 2 - Day to Explore Tórshavn
Spend your day as you wish exploring the capital region or take a day tour to explore some of the other stunning islands. We will send you a list of options available. You can select from many day tours to some of the stunning Islands of the Faroes for example Mykines, Vestmanna and Suðuroy along with many more options. We can assist in booking. Pick up and drop for the tours is from your hotel.
Day 3 - Day to Explore the Faroe Islands
Before the marathon day tomorrow you might want to go on an excursion to explore, We will send you a list of options available. You can select from many day tours to some of the stunning Islands of the Faroes for example Mykines, Vestmanna and Suðuroy along with many more options. We can assist in booking. Pick up and drop for the tours is from your hotel.
You may also just want to relax and enjoy your day in one of the worlds smallest capital Tórshavn by taking a walk – on your own – in the old part of town “úti á Reyni” and one of the worlds oldest parliament “Tinganes”.
In the afternoon pick up your race number in the Shopping Centre SMS in Tórshavn.
Enjoy a variety of Faroese music, art and food on Saturday evening before your marathon day.
Day 4 - Tórshavn Marathon
It's race day!
In the perfect conditions the weather is calm, partially misty and 13 degrees Celsius as participants set out from the city centre.
The race start is in the heart of the city and you will run a loop of 5,5 km back to the start/finish. Half marathon and 5,5 km Health Run will run the same 5,5 km loop in Tórshavn. Then run north out of the city to the village Kaldbak and return.
The half marathon course is quite hard. The course, which is free from traffic, is hilly and has two long hard hills just before the turning point. These hills must be navigated on the way home too. The hills are also part of the marathon course, but the marathon runners continue past the hills to a completely flat stretch of road along the Kaldbak fiord to the turning point in the village Kaldbak. The course is in its entirety a great nature experience.

Day 5 - Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from hotel late morening. Flight departs from Vágar Airport.
Transfer from hotel to the airport.
